Lying With Statistics

Sometimes, it's transparent. Here's an article about Greenpeace's attempt to decertify GM corn.

My favorite line: "“This sex- and dose-related effect resulted in the fact that the growth variations of the 11 per cent GMO males are highly statistically lower than their controls, and 33 per cent-GM-fed females higher.”’

The problem? The higher the dose, the less the effect in the study. Nonsense summations may sound good, but they still don't mean anything.
