Despite the many assertions about the Beltway, it's doomed to remain in the shape of a "C" and not an "O", according to our local road warrior
. Basically, it's a way to speed up access to parts of town that are mostly of interest to locals, rather than tourists, whose needs are taken care of by the I-15, Paradise and Las Vegas Boulevards.
Speaking as a local, that's ok -- it isn't yet wide enough to handle tourist traffic.
But the image is amusing: the Las Vegas Beltway permanently undone does resonate with certain agendas of vistors to the city.
