Roper V. Simmons

As noted in the indefatigable Dissecting Leftism, the Supreme Court is eroding its own authority by eroding the authority of the Constitution. Why should we pay attention to their understanding of the law, grounded as it is in purely private opinion, when we have opinions of our own?

Justice Scalia put it best in his dissent. Those interested should read it. On second thought, the subject is depressing enough not to make it worthwhile to provide a link.
